Leeds Trinity University is committed to fostering a culture and environment where every member of our community feels safe from all forms of abuse, bullying and harassment, and sexual misconduct. However, we do recognise that situations can arise where students, colleagues and members of the public might be subjected to such treatment and may require support, advice and guidance.

The University affirms that it does not tolerate any form of abuse, bullying, harassment or sexual misconduct. All reported incidents will be investigated, provided sufficient information is presented.

We recognise that not everyone who experiences or witnesses an incident of concern will wish to make a report, for whatever reason. This page is designed to provide information about the types of incidents which can fall under the topics of bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct. It provides quick and easy access to our Report a Concern tool (which includes an anonymous reporting route), details of support available within the University and externally, and the relevant governing policies and procedures.

Student training

To create a positive environment for all students at Leeds Trinity University, and in line with the Office for Students' (OfS) E6 condition, we provide mandatory consent, active bystander, and harassment training. This is an in-person training session delivered during Welcome Week, led by specially-trained staff.

The session is designed to help students understand what bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct can look like, how to recognise unacceptable behaviours, and what to do if you or someone else is affected. It will also highlight the support available to you at Leeds Trinity University and how to report concerns.

We are aware that for some students, the sensitive nature of this subject matter may cause distress. If you feel it would not be appropriate for you to attend the training, please complete the opt-out form.

Alternatively, if you would like to talk through the content of the training in advance, or see the training slides, please email studentsupport@leedstrinity.ac.uk.

How we ensure colleagues are appropriately trained

We are committed to ensuring that all colleagues have an up-to-date understanding of how to recognise and report behaviour that may constitute bullying, harassment and/or sexual misconduct. In addition to the information we have set out on this page, we do this as follows:

  • All colleagues at Leeds Trinity University are required to undertake regular mandatory training to raise awareness of bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct, including what each colleague is responsible for individually, alongside how we meet our obligations more broadly as an organisation.
  • We also deliver specialist training for all colleagues likely to be involved in receiving disclosures from students about incidents of bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct, including how to undertake investigations and make decisions in relation to incidents of bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct.

All of our training is sourced and/or delivered through approved and credible providers.
