Assault and sexual assault
The UK legal definition of assault is ‘an act that causes another person to fear unlawful violence or the application of unlawful force’. It can reference a physical attack, or someone threatening to attack you.
Sexual assault is defined by the Sexual Offences Act 2003 as intentionally touching another person in a sexual manner without their consent and without reasonable belief that the other person is consenting.
