Religious Education Teacher
It’s amazing going to a smaller university where you get to know some incredible people and be taught by really approachable lecturers that you can go and visit at any time. I’d go back to Leeds Trinity tomorrow if I could.
Why I chose to attend Leeds Trinity
I chose to attend Leeds Trinity because it was a small, close knit campus and as soon as I went to look round, I knew it was the one for me. I remember visiting other universities, with their huge Hogwarts style buildings and feeling worried about living in a huge city away from my parents. Then I saw Leeds Trinity and thought, ‘yep, I’d be able to live and study here, no problems’ and I did. Four years later and I never looked back, I just think about what a great opportunity I had studying here.
Favourite memories
The opportunity to attend the ‘Tea on the Landing’ hosted by the Chaplaincy team was a great opportunity to see friendly faces, catch up with friends and meet even more new people.
Continuing my studies
I had such a good time at Leeds Trinity, studying Religious Studies for three years so I decided to stay for a further year to undertake a PGCE.
My career since completing my studies
After finishing my studies at Leeds Trinity, I became an RE teacher in Warwickshire. I am very proud to have seen some excellent grades from my pupils sitting their RE GCSE, one pupil even went from a U to a grade 7! I have been able to use the knowledge and skills taught by the amazing lecturers throughout my career and will always be extremely grateful for that. I absolutely love helping the pupils choose their next steps in their life and love telling them about the positive experience I had at University.
My advice for a prospective student considering a course at Leeds Trinity
I would say go for it! It’s amazing going to a smaller university where you get to know some incredible people and be taught by really approachable lecturers that you can go and visit at any time. I’d go back to Leeds Trinity tomorrow if I could.
