I brought my daughter to Leeds Trinty University in September 2012 for Open Day for her Psychology degree course. Whilst having a wander around the building we came across the Television Studio and I was immediately entranced! I then met the lecturer in the hall, who suggested I did the TV Production course. However, as I was still working at the time it was not a viable idea. A year later, my daughter began her course and I got made redundant from my job so I immediately applied to do the Television Production course and was given an Unconditional Offer! We graduated together in 2017!

My most memorable memories from Leeds Trinity are the many opportunities my course presented. I had the opportunity to spend a week with BBC Leeds, ITV, True North and Emmerdale. I interviewed an MP, Television and Radio Presenters, a script writer, television and film producers, a Media lecturer, and made numerous promotional videos for animal rescue centres which resulted in new homes for them all. Without the skills I had learned at University, I would never have had the confidence, skills or opportunity to carry out these projects.

Since graduating with a first-class degree in 2017, I continued my study with an MA Research in Media, graduating in July 2019.  I have recently submitted my application to do a PhD. My time at Leeds Trinity has given me the opportunity and confidence to achieve academic success that I would never have imagined I was capable of. 

My advice to current and future Leeds Trinity students is to: "Grab every single opportunity offered or presented - there will be many! Enjoy every minute of your course as the time flies by so quickly. Applying to study at Leeds Trinity back in 2013 was, without doubt, the best decision I ever made.​"

Christine Wilson joined Leeds Trinity University as an undergraduate in September 2014, after bringing her daughter Helen to an Open Day. Christine was blown away by the University's in-house television studio and the equipment available for media students and was encouraged to apply for the undergraduate programme in Television Production.  

Since graduating in 2017 with a first-class degree, she has completed an MA Research in Media and now has plans to pursue PhD study at the University.
