It's not too late
If this is your first time applying to university - whether you’re returning to education, only just decided to apply, or already have your results - Clearing is your chance to secure a place on a course that still has availability.
If you apply now, your application will automatically go through Clearing.
How to apply through Clearing
Applying for the first time might feel like a big step, but it’s easier than you think.
Just follow these simple steps:
- Get set up on UCAS
You’ll need to register with UCAS.
This gives you a personal UCAS ID number, which you'll need when you apply. - Choose your course
Browse the list of courses available through Clearing at Leeds Trinity.
- Apply by phone
Call 0330 058 4266. Have your exam results, the UCAS course code, and your UCAS ID number ready.
- Get your offer
If you meet the entry requirements, we’ll make you a verbal offer over the phone, followed by a confirmation email.
For some courses, we may need to arrange an interview or gather extra information - we’ll talk you through anything you need to prepare. - Accept your offer
Once you’re ready to accept, add your Clearing choice in UCAS. After that, we’ll confirm your place.

Choose your accommodationI came through Clearing and found the whole process so easy. I applied through UCAS, set up a profile and explained why I wanted to do this course in my personal statement. I had all the GCSEs but didn't have the A-levels, so I didn't think I stood a chance. Leeds Trinity gave me a chance by letting me do an essay, which I did on prisons and reoffending, and I passed!

Your questions answered
Got questions? Here are some of the things students often ask when applying through Clearing for the first time.
How can I fund my degree?
You can apply for funding through Student Finance England. Tuition fee loans and maintenance loans are available for most UK students.
To learn more and apply, visit gov.uk.
Can I book accommodation?
Yes.
Once you’ve accepted your offer and added Leeds Trinity as your Clearing choice, we'll invite you to book your accommodation.
If you book before 31 August, we guarantee you a place in our en-suite student halls.

I'm a mature student. Can I apply?
Absolutely.
Many of our students return to education after a break or apply with non-traditional qualifications. You'll be considered an 'adult learner'.
At Leeds Trinity, we value the contribution you make to our student body. When you call our Clearing hotline, we'll be keen to hear about your professional experience as well as any qualifications you hold.
Can I apply as an international student?
At the moment, we're only accepting applications from students who already hold the right to study in the UK.
