What course do you study at Leeds Trinity University?

I study Business and Marketing.

What's the best thing about your course? What aspects do you enjoy the most?

I really appreciate how my course connects to real-life situations.

The content is always fresh, and each session, the lecturers make an effort to relate the material to current events, which adds a lot of relevance and excitement.

This approach not only makes the lectures more engaging, but it also helps us connect with each other and build friendships, making the whole experience much more enjoyable.

This is also reflected in the assessments, where you have the opportunity to write about topics that genuinely interest you.

Unlike many assessments with predetermined topics, these allow you to choose your own brands and companies, giving you the chance to showcase both your skills and passion. 

What circumstances led you to enter Clearing?

I completed my A-levels - I did some really tough academic ones like Maths and Further Maths and Physics.

I’d had a few thoughts in the weeks leading up to Results Day that maybe the route and the university I was planning to go to were not for me, and I wanted to try something different, but still attend uni and use the skills I learned in my studies.

I changed course from Aerospace Engineering to Business and Marketing.

My interest in aerospace, travel and planes has never changed, and I’d still love a career that combines these, which is exactly what LTU are helping me to do.   

Why did you choose Leeds Trinity?

I chose Leeds Trinity because of how friendly everyone seemed on the phone and they genuinely cared, it wasn’t a case of being added to a list and forgotten about, they helped me pick a course, explained my options and I even got some on-campus accommodation which they made so easy to book in to. I also loved how having two campuses meant I really can have the best of both worlds, using the Leeds City Campus or Horsforth libraries and facilities really allows you to have the best of both worlds too.   

How was your Clearing experience?

My Clearing experience in a few words was stress relieving, reassuring and easy!

I was so worried going in as I had no experience in Business at an academic level, and I never thought I would be in Clearing, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

The process was made so easy, and everyone was very friendly and reassuring.

I’d never been to Leeds before I made the call, as a uni or a city, and I can genuinely say I'd never change it for the world.

I’ve loved every second and could see a future here, all because of that one call! 

How has your time at university been? Have you enjoyed your course?

My university time has been amazing, my course has had such an impact on my career and has helped me so much more than I could have ever imagined.

Between the range of placements, options of courses and the lecturers, who have some great advice, industry connections and are genuinely just really friendly and approachable, I will certainly remember and look back fondly on my time at LTU for so many years to come. 

What would be your top tip for students in the lead up to Results Day?

My top tip would be don’t stress too much, you’ve already done all the hard work, and what will be will be.

If you know or have a feeling you will use Clearing, have a look at websites and at courses you may like and have the phone numbers ready for calling, along with your results, your UCAS ID and any questions you have.

Have a friend or family member with you if you are feeling nervous, be in a comfy spot, and just remember the people on the end of the phone are just people and may have been in the same situation as you years ago.

They will always be there to help you so take your time to assess options, choose your course, and it will all be okay!
