During your Foundation Year, you will undertake modules to enable you to enhance your academic skills and equip you with the tools you’ll need to study with confidence.
You'll be introduced to the skills necessary for effective business analysis and consultancy. You'll learn the essential of business, looking at how businesses operate and are managed, and explore how enterprise and innovation help to shape sustainable businesses.
Following successful completion of the Foundation Year, you’ll progress onto the first year of our Business Management BA (Hons) degree.
Learn how organisations are structured and managed, and get a grounding in accounting, finance and marketing.
You'll explore the legal, ethical and sustainability issues facing companies locally and internationally.
The course content aims to mirror the modern business environment.
You'll be taught by lecturers with industry experience, applying business management theory to real-life case studies.
You'll work in small groups to produce reports and presentations, giving you the confidence and skills to work effectively in project teams when you graduate.
You'll have the chance to go on a study trip abroad. Previous students have been to the Netherlands, visiting the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, Port of Rotterdam, Heineken Brewery and Gassan Diamond Factory.
Accreditation
Graduates from this course can claim exemptions from up to four CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) professional examinations. This allows you to begin at the Operational level of training as a CIMA Accountant.
On this course you'll have the opportunity to graduate with Dual Award status with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
