Julius is an Associate Professor in Construction Management in the School of Business - Construction and The Built Environment (CBE) at Leeds Trinity University (LTU). He is the co-leader for the design of the CBE programmes at LTU.
He holds MSc and PhD in Construction Project Management from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and University of Salford, Manchester. He is a chartered member of Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
He has over the years, taught, supervised and led a range of construction and built environment modules and programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has mentored and supervised several undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorial students’ research projects.
He has previously taught and led construction management courses at Kingston University, London, University of Salford, Manchester, and University of East London before joining LTU. Before joining academia, he practised as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK construction industry on a number of construction projects. In the recent past, Julius played a role as a working committee member for CIOB and contributed to a number of the committee activities and the content of the construction project management handbook.
He has played external examiner’s role for national and international institutions and led a number of international academic partnership - BSc and MSc Construction Management programmes with partners including Metropolitan College, Greece; Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering, Russia and Ain Shams University in Egypt.
He is the co-editor of Secondary Research Methods Textbook in the Built Environment and the lead editor of Mixed Methods Research Design Textbook for the Built Environment.
He has a strong interest in research and has participated in major research projects, such as London Olympic project with the CIOB team of researchers. His research interests lie in the area of construction management and sustainability, in particular, the social and economic sustainability aspects of construction projects. He has an international reputation for research in construction project management. He has published several highly rated research papers in national and international conferences and in reputable refereed journals. He has also refereed several conference and academic journal papers. He is keen to collaborate with industry and other institutions to undertake ground-breaking research activities.
