Steps to ensure we can consider your application
- Check the entry requirements to make sure you meet the entry criteria for your chosen course. Academic requirements by country can be found by visiting your relevant country page and our English language requirements page. You should also see the ‘Additional Requirements’ sections, below
- Complete all sections of the application form and attach copies of documents where requested, missing information, or failing to provide the documents required will lead to your application being unsuccessful.
September starts
- Applications for September 2025 entry are now open.
- Please note that part-time study is not available for international students on a Student Route Visa.
January starts
- If you require a Student Route Visa to study in the UK for January 2025 entry, then you must apply to us by 8 November 2024.
Additional requirements
Many courses require the equivalent of GCSE English grade 4. In cases where you have successfully taken one of the qualifications in the English language requirements table above, this can often be accepted as covering the GCSE grade 4 requirement (we will notify you if otherwise).
If you have not taken such a qualification because you are from a majority English-speaking country, please contact our International Team to discuss how you can evidence GCSE grade 4.
Some courses also require the equivalent of GCSE Maths grade 4, and our admissions team will contact you if this needs to be evidenced.
In addition to the above, some courses may require a subject-relevant background or similar qualifying criteria.

Assessing your application
In order to assess your application, we require:
- UK equivalent degree from an ECCTIS-recognised institution and details of all your academic qualifications including transcripts. Please provide translated transcripts of certificates not issued in English.
- Proof of English Language - Please provide full details such as certificates, scratch card and pin (if applicable).
- Satisfactory References - from a professional email address or on letter-headed paper.
- Satisfactory Statement of Purpose.
- Your Passport - An excellent quality, clear colour copy of the photo page.
- Copies of any previous Visas and Visa refusals.
Next steps
Once you have submitted your application for September 2024 entry, you will be sent an ID number. We will provide you with updates on your application as quickly as possible, but please allow time for processing and response to any queries you may have.
To help speed up the process, please ensure that you
- respond to any emails from our Admissions team asking for information or clarification
- provide all information requested by our Admission Team by the deadlines set
If you are successful in gaining an unconditional offer of a place, you must present all supporting documentation required for the visa application and pay 50% of the first year’s tuition fees by the following dates for the University to be able to provide a CAS.
- MSc Psychology - Friday 26 July 2024
- All other postgraduate courses starting September 2024 - Friday 9 August 2024
- Postgraduate courses starting in January 2025 - 15th November 2024
