The Guardian University Guide league tables rank institutions across the UK by subject, looking at student satisfaction, staff numbers, spending, and career prospects. The overall aim is to help prospective students find the course that best suits them. 

The newly released data has shown that Leeds Trinity’s Journalism offer, which has consistently produced industry-standard talent, is ranked first in the UK, reflecting an outstanding reputation for vocational training, professional work placements and mentoring opportunities. The Journalism provision has climbed one place since the 2024 Guardian University Guide to take the top spot.

The Centre for Journalism at Leeds Trinity University brings together expertise in all aspects of journalism, news reporting and newsroom production, offering a range of opportunities for students to develop their own writing and reporting skills, work as part of a news team and build professional networks with top journalists.

Leeds Trinity’s Law provision, which supports the University’s reputation for excellent professional opportunities, has ranked ninth this year, maintaining a top ten position in the guide. The Law School offers placements in commercial and corporate law firms, criminal defence practices and travel law specialists, as well as law and legal service providers or in youth justice, policing and penal justice settings.
