Leeds Trinity has ranked in the top 10 institutions in the UK* for assessment and feedback in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2024.
Reflecting the University’s approach to personalised and inclusive learning support, this score was significantly above the Higher Education sector average.
The 2024 results, which include franchise students in addition to students taught at its Main Campus in Horsforth, show that Leeds Trinity was also rated highly in the categories of learning opportunities and student voice.
The NSS asks final year Higher Education students in the UK questions about a range of factors related to their academic experience.
The 2024 results for all registered students at the institution also saw some strong subject performances. In particular, the University’s Children, Young People and Families courses in the subject category of ‘Education’ were ranked first out of 85 institutions for ‘teaching on my course’. Journalism and Computer Science also ranked in the top five institutions for this category.
The NSS results follow the recent publication of the Higher Education Statistics Agency’s Graduate Outcomes survey, which show that 96% of Leeds Trinity’s graduates are in employment or further study within 15 months of finishing their studies**.
Professor Charles Egbu, Vice-Chancellor at Leeds Trinity University, said: “We are pleased to see that our career-led and inclusive approach continues to make a real difference for our students, particularly in the areas of assessment and feedback, learning opportunities, and listening to students.
“As we look ahead to a busy new academic year, we will use the feedback from this survey to further enhance student experience and continue to encourage students to achieve their ambitions in our professional and supportive learning environment.
“Thank you to colleagues for their continued commitment and dedication.”
The NSS is managed by the Office for Students (OfS) and gathers students’ opinions on the quality of their courses which helps to: inform prospective students’ choices; provide data that supports universities and colleges to improve the student experience; and support public accountability.
Leeds Trinity University is continuing to invest in the student experience through its Strategic Plan 2021-26, built around the four Strategic Pillars of ‘Education and Experience’, ‘People and Sustainability’, ‘Research, Impact and Innovation’, and ‘Careers and Enterprise’. This is supported by the two key themes of Digital Futures and the Leeds City Region.
Its new Leeds City Campus will open in the 2024/25 academic year.
