Leeds Trinity University’s annual International Catholic Conference takes place online on Friday 13 September between 10:00am and 1:30pm. This year’s theme focuses on business ethics and includes international scholars and business leaders from the private sector.

The conference Ethics and values for businesses of the future: Building university culture for a global world supports the University’s Catholic Mission and ambition of creating an all-inclusive community.

This year’s speakers include Professor Jonathan Liu, Founder and Executive Dean of the International Business School in Sale, Manchester and Vice Principal at London Churchill College; Paul Palmarozza, philosopher, teacher, trainer and author; and Professor Charles Egbu, Vice-Chancellor at Leeds Trinity University and one of the UK’s first black Vice-Chancellors.

Joining the line-up of speakers is Dr Ann Marie Mealey, author and academic in ethics and moral theology who was appointed as Director of Catholic Mission at Leeds Trinity University in December 2022. Her role supports the University’s Strategic Plan, Catholic Mission and Catholic Social Teaching to promote the principles of dignity, respect, social justice, equality and inclusion.

Dr Ann Marie Mealey, who has curated and organised the International Catholic Conference, said: “Universities can play a vital role in preparing and developing values-driven future business leaders who will be innovative and competitive whilst making informed decisions considering their conscience, community and humanity. The conference is a chance for attendees to build on their existing knowledge, ask questions, engage in debates and share their insight on ethics and values in business.
