Tuition fees and loans
Tuition Fee Amounts
2024-25
Three-year and two-year Undergraduate honours Degree courses and Foundation Year courses (Level 0 prior to continuing on to a linked three-year Undergraduate honours Degree course) are £9,250 per year for tuition fees in 2024-25. This fee may increase each academic year in line with inflation or UK government policy.
Paying your tuition fees
Eligible UK Home students can apply for a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of their tuition fees from the government which you repay gradually through monthly repayments.
Students who do not take out a tuition fee loan or who are not eligible for a tuition fee loan will need to make payment of the tuition fees directly to Leeds Trinity in line with the Student Financial Regulations. For more information on paying your fees yourself directly to Leeds Trinity please contact Finance@leedstrinity.ac.uk.
For students starting a course in January 2027 onwards, Student Finance England is introducing a new student finance system called the Lifelong Learning Entitlement to provide applicants with tuition fee loan support. For more information visit Student Finance England's Lifelong Learning Entitlement page.
Support for essential living costs and other costs
Eligible UK students on a full-time course can apply for a package of maintenance funding from the government to help with general living costs, and additional funding if they have children and/or a disability. Part-time students from England and Wales can apply for a part-time maintenance loan.
Distance Learning courses including online courses are not eligible for any maintenance funding.
Eligibility for funding
Students usually need to meet residency eligibility criteria (e.g. have settled status such as being a UK citizen, or have been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain) and meet the previous study eligibility criteria (e.g. be studying for a degree at a higher level than any degree they already hold, and not already exhausted their funding entitlement). Eligibility criteria depend on which funding body your student finance is from (e.g. Student Finance England / Student Finance Northern Ireland etc.) and which year you start your course.
Repaying your loans
As a full-time student, you will not start repaying your loan until the April after you leave university, and once you're earning over a set threshold. The threshold depends on which funding body your student finance is from (e.g. Student Finance England / Student Finance Northern Ireland etc.) and which year you started Higher Education. For more information visit the Repaying Your Student Loan page of the Gov.uk website.
Where to get more information
English students can apply and find out more information on the Student Finance section of the gov.uk website.
This website also has a calculator that will give you an estimate of what you will receive.
