Create futures

Start your teaching journey at Leeds Trinity University – a university with a proud history in teacher training.

Since opening as a teacher training college in 1966, we’ve helped generations of teachers develop the skills and confidence to make a real difference in the classroom.

We offer teacher training at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, so whether you’re just starting out or ready to take the next step, you can find the route that’s right for you.

  • Undergraduate teacher training: Our Primary Education with QTS degrees are ideal if you want to teach in a primary school and gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as part of your degree, but don't have the qualifications needed for entry onto our PGCE courses.
  • Postgraduate teacher training: Our PGCE Primary and PGCE Secondary courses offer different age-phase and subject options, as well as multiple training routes, so you can learn in the way that best suits you.

On successful completion of your course – and having met the Teachers’ Standards – you’ll be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

The lessons and placements enabled me to leave the University as a more mature individual and taught me so much about professionalism. The course taught me every subject you needed to be a Primary teacher, and this gave me so much confidence.
